Getting to Know Arizona Home Insurance Types
Moving to a new state can be difficult and it can be even more complicated when you need to purchase homeowner's insurance if you are unfamiliar with the new territory. Arizona offers four common plans to its residents.
The Most Popular Arizona Insurance Types
Basic Property Damage Insurance
The first type of insurance available to Arizona residents is property damage which includes damage on the home from weather elements. These elements include fire, hail, or a cyclone. This type will also cover ten percent of other structures on your property such as cars, sheds, and garages. It is important to note that flood and earth quake damage are not covered under the property damage type of insurance.
Living Expenses Coverage
The next insurance type available for Arizona residents is the additional living expenses coverage. This covers the expenses that will arise when you need to have work on your house due to a reason out of your control or when work is being done on it. This includes a hotel room, food, and other items you may need when you are away from home.
Personal Liability Coverage
Another insurance type is the personal liability coverage which covers people who claim they were injured on your property. So, if someone tries to blame you for their accident in your house then you are covered.
Medical Payments Homeowner's Insurance
The last insurance type is medical payments. This covers people other than yourself or the people living with you in case of an accident on property adjoining your home.
Important Considerations
It is important to note that none of these insurance types cover pets, stolen vehicles, flooding, earth quake damage, sewage, or drainage problems. There may be additional coverage plans that you could look into to cover these items such as auto insurance.
